  Silang City History     It is believed that Silang is one of the oldest towns in Cavite. There are archeological evidences that shows that human settlement was already established as early as 14th century in what was once part of Silang.        A legend explains that it was named Silang because the town is located in the eastern portion " Silangan" of the province.   Trece Martires City History      Trece Martires which used to be Quintana was named after the Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite, who were judged of rebellion and were executed by the Spaniards on September 12, 1896 during the Philippine Revolution. Trece Martires was one of the largest and remotest barrios in Cavite.      From 1900-1930, the place was subdivided into cattle ranches and sugar farms which is owned by the Valencia and Soriano Families of Tanza. Just before the outbreak of  World War II, the government awarded these lands to be the tenant occupants on an installment basis.    Tagaytay City History      During the Philippine revolution in 1896, the revolutionaries found refuge on these ridges and forests; those in Cavite, particularly in Masilao which is now called Amadeo, Malabon Grande which is now called General Trias, Mendez, Silang, Indang, and Dasmari ñas as well as in Laguna and Batangas. Going to and from their destinations, they termed the process managaytay , which meant they would traverse th ridges.      Tagaytay City was once a cogon land before it was discovered after the Taal Volcano eruption. The cogon's vast stretches gave the Katipuneros a ready sanctuary when they needed to.     On January 21, 1938, Tagaytay City became a chartered city upon the enactment of the Commonwealth Act No. 338.   MUNICIPALITY OF TERNATE History The municipality of Ternate was founded in 1663 when  the Spanish Garrison of Ternate were forced to defend the the City of Manila from an incoming Chinese invasion to the city. A number of Merdicas volunteered to help and all throughout they resettled near the mouth of the Bahra de Maragondon also known as Maragondon River.  Eventually the name of the Municipality of Ternate is after the name of an island found in Indonesia where the descendants of the Merdicas originates and integrated with the locals during the Spanish colonial period.  Language  When the Merdicas community settled in Ternate, they also brought their language along them. The Merdicas Community spoke a Spanish Creole with Portuguese and Papuan language community in their language which is a dialect of the Chavacano language in our country.   Municipality of Alfonso   History    In the 17th century Alfonso was a vast land area covered with thick forest. Alfonso formerly part of barrio of lumampong in Indang. It consist four sitios including Matayawanak, Pajo, Pangasab, and Alas-as.  The name Alas-as refers to the name of a tree that used for the construction of houses and bear sweet fruit.  Through the petition of community leaders (Bonifacio Aveo and Felix del Mundo) the town became a separate district municipality from Indang on March 16, 1859.  The name Alas-as was only long lasted in 17 years because the Spaniards officially named the town after The King Alfonso XII of Spain. Food Tablea Alfonso is the place where you can find tablea, it is made from cacao fruits. It is used in making chocolate or tsokolateng tablea aside from that tablea also used for Filipino dishes including champorado and in other chocolate base dessert.
