  TUKLAS CAVITE- MUNICIPALITY OF KAWIT                                                          KAWIT                           (Cavite el viejo) HISTORY Kawit, officially the Municipality of Kawit (Tagalog: Bayan ng Kawit), is a first-class municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines.  It is one of the notable places that had a major role in the country's history during the 1800s and 1900s. Formerly known as Cavite el Viejo, it is the location of his home, and the name Kawit is from the word kalawit, the Aguinaldo Shrine, where independence from Spain was declared on June 12, 1898. TUKLAS CAVITE- MUNICIPALITY OF NOVELETA                                                                 NOVELETA      HISTORY                   Noveleta, a former barrio of Cavite el Viejo (Kawit), became an independent municipality on January 5,1868 presumably during the Spanish Governor General Jose de la Gandara y Navarro (1866- 1869). Another source says Noveleta was founded one year earlier, in 1867. The name Noveleta is said to have originated from Nueva Isla or New Island, a tern frequently used by the spaniards, referring to the locality. In the early years of the Spanish regime visiting priests described the place as Nueva Late (New fate or Fortune). In the course of time these terms Nueva Isla and Nueva Lete involved of Noveleta.   Silang City History     It is believed that Silang is one of the oldest towns in Cavite. There are archeological evidences that shows that human settlement was already established as early as 14th century in what was once part of Silang.        A legend explains that it was named Silang because the town is located in the eastern portion " Silangan" of the province. Another legend tells that the Roman Catholic Church was born  " isinilang"  from the ground.   Trece Martires City History      Trece Martires which used to be Quintana was named after the Thirteen Martyrs of Cavite, who were judged of rebellion and were executed by the Spaniards on September 12, 1896 during the Philippine Revolution. Trece Martires was one of the largest and remotest barrios in Cavite.      From 1900-1930, the place was subdivided into cattle ranches and sugar farms which is owned by the Valencia and Soriano Families of Tanza. Just before the outbreak of  World War II, the government awarded these lands to be the tenant occupants on an installment basis. Food Bibingkinitan     Bibingka is the  best enjoyed food of the people after Simbang Gabi during Christmas Season.    Tagaytay City History      During the Philippine revolution in 1896, the revolutionaries found refuge on these ridges and forests; those in Cavite, particularly in Masilao which is now called Amadeo, Malabon Grande which is now called General Trias, Mendez, Silang, Indang, and Dasmari ñas as well as in Laguna and Batangas. Going to and from their destinations, they termed the process managaytay , which meant they would traverse th ridges.      Tagaytay City was once a cogon land before it was discovered after the Taal Volcano eruption. The cogon's vast stretches gave the Katipuneros a ready sanctuary when they needed to.     On January 21, 1938, Tagaytay City became a chartered city upon the enactment of the Commonwealth Act No. 338. Which was authored by Representative Justiniano Montano and was signed by the former President Manuel L. Quezon. Tagaytay is a planned city that covers areas of Mendez, Amadeo, and Silang.
